EUROPE / KASLIK, LEBANON – The European Academy of Coptic Heritage (TEACH) is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Holy Spirit University – Kaslik, Lebanon (USEK), effective 1 April 2026.
This partnership represents a significant step forward in TEACH’s mission to advance the study and preservation of Coptic heritage and early Christian traditions on an international stage. By formalising this relationship with Lebanon’s most distinguished faith-based university, TEACH strengthens its global academic network and deepens its commitment to interfaith and intercultural scholarship.
Under the agreement, TEACH and USEK will collaborate across a range of academic endeavours, including joint conferences, seminars, and workshops, as well as co-authored research and higher degree supervision. The partnership also opens the door for faculty exchange and the development of joint digital learning programmes, making TEACH’s scholarly work accessible to an even wider global audience.
TEACH Executive Vice Chancellor, Prof. Michael Henein, who co-signed the MOU alongside Fr. Joseph Moukarzel, President of The Holy Spirit University – Kaslik, expressed his enthusiasm for the road ahead:
“This agreement reflects TEACH’s deep belief that scholarly exchange builds bridges between traditions. We look forward to a rich and fruitful collaboration with USEK as we work together to foster a greater understanding of our shared Christian heritage.”
The MOU spans five years and covers key thematic areas central to TEACH’s academic identity — Coptic heritage, biblical studies, ancient languages, theology, and history.
