St. Cyrill’s commentary Of the Old Testament overview:

Saint Cyril of Alexandria is considered one of the most important Church fathers who interpreted the scripture , especially his interpretations of most of the books of the Old Testament. His method of interpretation was based on three approaches: the Christological approach, the spiritual approach, and the ecclesiastical approach.

One of his most important interpretations of the five books of Moses is his book “Worship and Prayer in Spirit and Truth”. We will study this book in this course and learn about these three approaches and how we can benefit from them in our reading and interpretation of the Bible, as interpreted by the Church Fathers, and have an effective impact on our spiritual life and daily behavior.
