- Course Objective:
According to the Coptic rites, the Devine Liturgy consists of two parts; the liturgy of the Sacrament (described as the liturgy of the believers) and the liturgy of the Word (commonly described as the liturgy of the catechists). In essence the two liturgies stem from the mysterious work of the Word of God (the second hypostasis) through His read Word and through His Body and Blood, respectively.
The Coptic church has a beautifully designed structure of the liturgy of the Word with various readings; Vespers and Matins gospels, Pauline and catholic epistles and the book of Acts, ending up by celebrating the exact words of the Word of God in the Gospel. Such order was not put haphazardly but with great wisdom. In this course you will study such structure in detail and how to benefit from each of its components
