Course Objective:
The Pharaonic civilization has stunned the world with its sciences, traditions and wonders. The Egyptology and Biblical Archaeology course unravels many of the hidden mysteries in Ancient Egypt as well as assists you in understanding related passages in the Old Testament.
Learning Outcomes:
1) In depth study of Pharaonic history and culture in relation to contemporary life
2) Critical understanding of biblical archeology in the light of old and recent excavations and related established sciences.
Course Structure:
1- Ancient Maps (Map 1 and 2)
2- Ancient Archaeological pictures (1 and 2)
3- Archaeology from 5th Century B.C.
4- Zoom in on Obelisk
5- Sargon II (War and Captivity)
6- The Siege of Nebuchadnezzar to Jerusalem
7- Babylonian Edict from 605 to 586 BC
8- The Conventional Chronology of Israel
Assessment:
Two term exams to evaluate overall comprehension and proficiency.
Prerequisites:
Egyptology and Biblical Archaeology TEACH Certificate and Diploma courses.
Delivery Method:
The course will be delivered entirely online through a learning management system. All lectures are delivered by Zoom. Participants will have access to recorded lecture videos, reading materials, and discussion forum on the course website.
Duration: October 2024-June 2025
Certificate:
Upon successful completion of the course and passing the final exam, participants will receive a TEACH High Diploma in Egyptology and Biblical Archaeology. The High Diploma will only be received upon completion and passing of the two term exams.
